Joe Albright Launches Campaign Website and Calls Out Dangerous Senate Budget Bill
PEORIA, IL — Joe Albright, Democratic candidate for Congress in Illinois’s 16th District, has launched his official campaign website: www.electjoealbright.com, issuing a powerful call to action against the Senate’s proposed reconciliation bill — a measure he describes as “dangerous, immoral, and potentially devastating to the lives of thousands.”
“This bill does nothing but take life-saving care away from our most vulnerable neighbors to hand out yet another tax break to the wealthiest Americans,” said Albright.
“This is like robbing Peter to pay Paul — and it’s never worked. You don’t balance the budget by cutting people off from their medication, their home health care, or their only chance at living with dignity. It’s irresponsible, it’s cruel, and it’s a slap in the face to every working family struggling to stay healthy and make ends meet. ”
At the heart of Albright’s campaign is a grassroots petition demanding the Senate reject these sweeping cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. “This isn’t a policy disagreement — it’s a life-or-death issue for hundreds, if not thousands, of the most vulnerable and cherished members of our communities,” he added. “We need leadership that will fight for people, not protect tax shelters.” The petition, featured prominently on the new campaign site, gives voters a direct way to speak out against policies that would devastate seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families.
While healthcare is a leading issue, Albright’s campaign is built on a broader vision to restore dignity and opportunity to working families through high-quality public education and meaningful job creation. His platform includes investments in teachers, trade schools, college affordability, and a modern workforce powered by clean energy and infrastructure development.
“Healthcare, education, and jobs are not separate issues — they’re the backbone of a functioning society,” Albright said. “This kind of legislation will create a cascading crisis: underfunded and overstretched hospitals, delayed treatment, and families too afraid of financial ruin to seek the care they need.” If you can’t see a doctor, you can’t stay in school. If you can’t afford an education, you’re locked out of good-paying jobs. We need bold, compassionate leadership to break this cycle — and I’m ready to deliver it.”
The campaign website provides:
The petition to stop the Senate's harmful budget proposal
A full breakdown of Albright’s policy platform
A calendar of town halls, campus events, and listening sessions
Volunteer opportunities for grassroots organizers
A secure donation portal to support outreach and advertising efforts
“IL-16 deserves a representative who won’t sell us out for political convenience or corporate favor,” Albright concluded. “I’m not waiting until after Election Day to act. I’m here now, raising the alarm and offering real solutions. This is what leadership looks like.”
